Supreme Court Rules Against Trump Administration In DACA Case

A divided U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the Trump Administration in DACA case.  The Court basically ruled that the Trump Administration did not follow the rules that they were required to follow under the Administrative Procedure Act.  Department of Homeland Security’s decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, was arbitrary and capricious under the Administrative Procedure Act. (Read the decision here.)

There are some 650, 000 DACA recipients (DREAMers) who were  are protected from deportation under DACA.  The Supreme Court has send the case back the Department of Homeland Security( (DHS) so the DHS can follow the proper procedures if they try to end the DACA program.
